In a Whisper and a Hush

It’s short, and it’s probably incomplete, but here’s my bit of poetry this morning, admittedly inspired by a photograph I spotted on Instagram while sipping some coffee on the front porch. I think, though, I just discovered the title for my WIP.

It happened
there
in some well-nigh solitude,
as light overtook its beloved combatant.
In a whisper and a hush,
a word was uttered,
an outcry unheard,
a welcoming muttered.

It happened
there
in springtime’s winter,
when voices in the wild began to sing.
A kindest soul,
enrobed in amber,
breathed a silvery secret,
for no one to hear.
